At 14 weeks we found that we were having our 2nd boy! After leaving the sonogram place I remember Bo was giddy! He really wanted another boy! I was also REALLY excited because Ben was going to have a brother! And since Ben was so Perfect I figured we were pretty good at raising boys :) I was going to be the "Boy" mom! A couple hours after my appointment I had a little breakdown about not having a girl because we had already decided we only wanted 2 kids. And I was sad I would never have a relationship with a daughter that I have with my mother. I got over it quickly and was pumped about another boy and getting to re do Ben's AWESOME nursery :) I did have some reservations because the sono picture wasn't very accurate compared to Ben's gender reveal photo. I remember even telling Bo if this is a boy then we might have issues because his "part" aren't centered between is leg. I might have worked it over searching 14 week sonograms because I wasn't completely convinced on that photo alone (even with everyone assuring me that they don't make these kind of mistakes anymore) I was finally convinced it was in deed my little Jack Bowen while we were on our beach vacation. Me and my sister in law took gender tests from Walgreens I was 19 weeks and she was 16 weeks. My other sister who was also pregnant took the gender test and I told Bo out of the 3 of us one is going to be wrong because the test as a 50/50 chance of getting it right. (I guessed my sister in laws would be wrong :) All 3 Test said:
IT'S A BOY!
and my test was the ONE that was wrong
Bo excited at 5AM
Jack Bowen was making an appearance while on vacation!
Then on September 23 our LIVES changed! I went for my 20 week sonogram. The sono tech said would yall like to know the sex we said yes but didn't tell her we already knew. When she said its IT'S A GIRL!!! WE WERE SHOCKED!!!
Of course I didn't believe it...so I went and had another sono done from the first place that told me Boy and they of course confirmed that it was a GIRL
We fell in LOVE pretty quick with our little Bryn Valentine :)
We baked cupcakes for baby sisters Birthday the next day!
Before we had any kids I always wanted a Girl to be born around the beginning of February. My birthday is the 1st and my mom's the 2nd. Baby girls due date was February 10th. Funny how things work out... Also before kids I had said I wanted her middle name to be Valentine after Bo's Grandfather. I just LOVED it for a middle name and Pa was very dear to Bo. When the 10th came and went and still no baby my biggest fear was coming a reality. I DID NOT want her born on Valentine's Day for many reasons but the biggest reason was I didn't want people to think her middle name was Valentine because she was born on Valentines Day (lame). I was afraid it would completely take away the meaning of her middle name. But at my doctor appointment Monday the 13th I was in the early stages of labor and the doctor wanted me to check in the hospital at 11p. Well I knew then without a doubt her birthday would be February 14th :)
It was by far the Best Valentine's Day I have ever had. Maybe not the most romantic but I felt so Much LOVE that day my HEART was so FULL!
Not really feeling the LOVE at this point
But then Overwhelming amount of LOVE
First Bath...Not really a fan
Cannot Thank my mom enough for being there for us! She went with us to the hospital at 11p. of course no one slept since I was in labor and delivered at 7:22AM. She then went to Ben's Valentine's party at his school then brought him to meet is baby sister! Left hospital and went to Chuck E. Cheese! Anything Goes with Grandma So needless to say he had a BLAST. Oh and we came home to a spotless house and the same welcome home dinner we had with Ben :)
Also Thanks to Minnie and Pop for taking care of Big Brother while we were at the hospital. So glad that he was more then well taken care of while I was in labor. It is a GREAT feeling to know that yours kids are taken care of when you can't care for them.
Pure Perfection!
I was very Anxious about Ben meeting "baby sister" He talked about her a lot while she was in my belly he even gave her her name baby sister (She is still called that today) but I wasn't sure he totally got what was really going to happen. I was never worried he would act out or not "like" her. I just never wanted him to feel like he wasn't still the center of our universe! Being the wonderful kid that he is he was totally SMITTEN with her! It was for sure LOVE at first sight! He was and still to this day is the sweetest brother to his baby sister. She is one lucky girl!
Ben had to call his friends and let them know he was a Big Brother. I asked him who he was "talking" to and of course it was cousin Trent :)
Since I delivered early in the day. We got settled into our room enjoyed our visitors then enjoyed our steak and shrimp dinner! Good thing we had a filling dinner because no one slept that night expect Miss Bryn. She was spitting up a scary amount of fluid. They finally had to pump ther stomach and she was much better after that.
We were able to leave the next day! Poor baby girl is looking ruff in her going home pictures. She had scratched her sweet face all up!
Minnie had bought this coming home outfit to give to us at our sono when we found out the sex because she was for sure we were having a girl. But I never knew that until she confessed when we were on our beach vacation shopping and she showed it to me in the store. That's how I told her that Jack is now a she. I said "Hey do you still have Bearnie's(I really wanted to name my girl Bearnice:) coming home outfit?" Because she will need it after all :)
